    RV Volunteering

Are you looking for ways to get the most out of your RV experience?

Volunteering in your RV is a great way to not only bond with your friends or family, but also a great way to help out those in need.

There are many different ways to volunteer in your RV. You can take it upon yourself to get things done, or find organizations that could use your RV and your help. Here are a few ideas to get you started making a difference in your RV today!

    1. Collect Items to Donate to Shelters

Organizations such as Goodwill or The Salvation Army are always looking for donations of all kinds to help people in need.

Goodwill Drop Off Location What better way to get in the giving spirit than to collect items and donate to those that are less fortunate? Make some calls to neighbors or friends in your area asking them to help you in donating.

If you get some people willing to donate, take a weekend trip to collect these items and then take them to your local donation drop off center. Donating is a great way to get started on your volunteering journey, and one that is fairly simple to do!

    2. Turn Your RV into a Soup Kitchen

Do you have a love for cooking? Well then turn your passion into a passion for helping others! Make your RV into a soup kitchen and cook up a great meal for those in your community that might not know where their next meal is coming from.

If you don’t know how to go about where to serve your food, get in touch with local community organizations in your area that might need your help cooking or distributing food. Many of the organizations would be glad to tell you where they need help and what you can do to better serve those in need. Don't hesitate to call around!

    3. Become an RV Care-A-Vanner

RV Care-A-Vanners is an extension of the group Habitat for Humanity. RV Care-A-Vanners is a volunteer program for anyone who travels in an RV, wants to build Habitat houses for those in need and have fun. There is no age restriction to be a Care-A-Vanner and no previous construction experience is necessary. You just need to be willing to work and change lives!

There are numerous opportunities to learn and plenty of meaningful work for everyone, so be sure to get in contact with Habitat and fill out the forms necessary to work. Becoming an RV-Care-A-Vanner is a great way to spend time with people you care about while also making a difference. If your goal this year is to make an impact in the community, or if you are just looking for a challenge to bring your group closer together, volunteering in your RV is a great way to accomplish those things.
