Attend The Masters in an RV
Every April the world's best golfers descend upon Augusta, Georgia for golf’s greatest tournament, The Masters. The tournament has been dubbed “A tradition unlike any other,” and it has been held at Augusta National Golf Club for more than 70 years. This years tournament will be held Monday April 7 - Sunday April 13, with tournament play beginning on Thursday, April 10.
Being the most prestigious tournament in golf, if you were lucky enough to get a ticket, you may now be considering travel and lodging plans. Well if you have an RV, you can take care of both! Here are some reasons why taking an RV to the Masters is a great idea along withe some nearby RV parks if you are attending The Masters.
Make New Friends! Attending The Masters is at the top of most sports fans bucket lists. To just see the golf course up close is a dream for some, but throw in the world's top golfers and you get a once in a lifetime experience.
Unlike other sports in big arenas or stadiums, golf tournaments allow spectators to walk along with the players as well as position themselves on the holes they want to see. This can make for some pretty tight quarters, and making friends with those around you is always a good time.
In addition, at several of the RV parks around Augusta, most people camping out like to socialize and swap food and stories about the days events. While hotels might offer more comfort, having friends around and being outdoors sure makes for a more exciting time in our opinion!
If you don’t know by now, several reports have come out over the past years saying that RV travel can save you money on long vacations. The price of flights, hotel and food for a group or family can get pretty pricey. By having the convenience of not only having a place to stay, but also a place to eat is crucial to cutting down on costs.
As the article "Some Masters patrons prefer home on wheels to hotel rooms" written by Kelly Jasper shows, people who take their RV to Augusta can save not hundreds of dollars, but thousands on their trip. Save money this year by gathering up some friends or family and heading down to Augusta for the trip of a lifetime!
There are several RV Parks close by to the grounds, but beware, most sites do fill up fast, so call and make sure their is a spot available for you before getting to the site.
