Fall Festivals in Georgia
Fall is hear and this time of year is not only known for cool weather, Friday night football games, and the changing colors of the trees. This is the best time of year for festivals. Homemade apple cider, craft fairs and food vendors just add to the best parts of the season. We’ve got the best of this seasons fall festivals in Georgia.
Oktoberfest in Helen
In the British Alpine Village of Helen, GA, Oktoberfest is happening now. Running now through November 1st, come celebrate the best of German Heritage and celebration at the Helen Festhalle. Known as the longest running Oktoberfest celebration in the U.S. this festival has it all. From German music and dancing the polka, to the best of German foods and drinks, there is something for everyone. Craft and antique vendors are also on hand offering unique, handmade artifacts from German culture. So strap on your lederhosen and join the festivities of the longest running Oktoberfest in the country.
Georgia Apple Festival
Georgia grows some of the best apples in the country. They harvest hundreds of varieties of the juiciest, best tasting and freshest apples you’ll find anywhere. Ellijay, GA is right in the heart of apple country, nestled in the Appalachian mountains, and home to the Georgia Apple Festival.
The Georgia Apple Festival runs for two weekends, Oct 10-11th and Oct 17-18th at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds. Hundreds of vendors from around the state come to participate and off the best of their products. Fresh homemade food, unique arts and crafts from local artisans and more are on hand both weekends to make the Apple festival a success. The festival includes an antique car show on the 10th and a parade on the 17th. Come sample some of the best baked goods with the freshest apples in Georgia.
