Work While you Stay
Looking to escape the cold? Bring your RV to California and spend the Winter months in the warm sunshine! Most snowbirds migrate west or south for the winter because they want to always have weather that is conducive to RV traveling. But what some snowbirds might not realize is that there are opportunities to make money while they RV this winter. There are multiple campgrounds that offer workamping as a way to either trade space for work or offer monetary compensation for travelers willing to work.
If you are looking to pick up some extra money or are looking for some free camping, take a look at some of these workamping opportunities right here in California!
There are many opportunities in other states as well, and a lot of websites out there such as workampingjobs.com to help you find opportunities for work where you are going.
California Workamping Sites:
Ramona Ranch, located right next to San Diego, is looking for a landscaper or construction worker. They are only looking for 12-15 hours of work per week to trade for water, electricity, and Internet. Your expenses would only be propane, groceries, and cable TV if you choose.
If you are experienced in construction or landscape and are willing to dump your sewer off site, they would love to see your resume.
The location of the ranch is central San Diego County. They are 12 minutes from the San Diego Wild Animal Park, 45 minutes from Julian, and 45 minutes from the San Diego International Airport. Casinos and the beach are an easy drive. Mexico is about 50 minutes and Los Angeles is about 2 hours away. You are asked to contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you may have.
Lost Hills RV Park
Lost Hills RV Park is located in Lost Hills, CA and is right between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is newly remodeled and under new ownership. They are looking for a workamper to help with daily operations. Job responsibilities range from customer service, running the small convenience store, general maintenance and light landscaping. The position pays $100/week, free site (including all utilities and free WiFi).
Check out their website to see park pictures and more info about our RV park. For more information call Dirk at 805-440-8475. You could also email email@example.com
Sky Valley Resort
Sky Valley Resort is the premier RV site and vacation home resort located in Desert Hot Springs, California. With 893 RV sites, mineral pools, tennis, shopping and many other activities, there will never have a dull moment.
They are looking for someone to join their Resort Ranger team. Job duties will include assisting in resident education, gate duty, patrols and lock-ups. It requires strong customer service skills and basic computer experience is a plus.
Compensation will be $9 per hour put towards a full hookup site with utilities. It is guaranteed to cover site and utilities, no extra pay available. The workamper will be required to work 8 to 24 hours per week, nights, seasonal or year-round and can start immediately. Send emails to Michele Dahl: firstname.lastname@example.org.
